The Swiss market for the financing of innovative start-ups has grown strongly in the past year, despite the plummeting stock markets. Interviewed representatives of the scene still want a government boost, as there is still a lack of capital for growth investments of between 10 and 50 million francs.
The common terms “venture capital” and “venture capital” are pleonasms like the white mold – because every capital investment is associated with risks. But what is meant by the terms mentioned in the scene as well as in the political discussion is a narrower interpretation: the financing of innovative start-ups. This is particularly risky, because experience has shown that the majority of company start-ups fail and only a small minority turn out to be a great success.
