The district head of Education, Julieta Conti, ruled out today that in Bahía schools the vaccination certificate against Covid-19 is being requested for registration for the 2023 school year and pointed out that no type of complaint has been received in this regard.
In this sense, the teacher stated that having the complete vaccination schedule is not an exclusive requirement for the children to be able to attend classes and that, in the event that a family has an anti-vaccination position, the interdisciplinary teams contact the she.
“Vaccination against Covid is not within the mandatory calendar that is planned for children and, in our case, at the Headquarters we have not received any concerns about it,” he said.
In this way, Conti came to the crossroads of the statements made days ago by the councilor of Avanza Libertad, Valeria Rodríguez, who through her social networks had denounced that in some Bahia educational establishments they requested that the boys be vaccinated against the coronavirus to be inscribed. The mayor, who assured that she was going to present a project in the deliberative body to request reports on the matter, at no time did she want to say in which schools they were doing it.
“This is the first time I’ve heard something like this. The registrations were normally made at the end of the last cycle, in November for the initial level and in December for primary and secondary schools”, stated the directive, who clarified that not having the complete mandatory vaccination schedule is not an excluding condition for not being registered. .
in dialogue with Panoramafor “LU2”, Conti explained that in the face of the anti-vaccination position, the right to education prevails.
“The children register and, from that moment on, they begin to work with the families and also, if there is any specific risk, with the health services of the municipality. The reality is that the right to education cannot be taken away”, he maintained.
This, he acknowledged, ends up constituting a clash of rights: health against education.
′′ Let’s remember that the Covid vaccine is not mandatory. However, those who do not have traditional vaccines are directed to do so, giving them information, ”he concluded.
