Bogor Health Office Says KLB 18 Cases of Measles are Complete

JawaPos.com– The Bogor District Health Office (Dinkes) provided an explanation regarding the information rolled out by the West Java Provincial Health Office, namely regarding the extraordinary events (KLB) of 18 cases of measles.

Bogor District Health Office Secretary Agus Fauzi explained, an outbreak of 18 cases of measles in the Tenjo area, Bogor Regency, occurred in July 2022. Currently, this case has been resolved.

“We are monitoring developments, so far there have been no cases of measles in the area,” said Agus Between.

According to him, the Bogor District Health Office initially received information about four cases of measles in the Tenjo area. The Health Office dispatched a surveillance team considering that the disease can spread very quickly.

The results of field checks, said Agus, Bogor District Health Office found 18 confirmed cases of measles in the same environment. At that time, his party also determined the status of the KLB and wrote a letter to the Bogor Regent’s Acting Officer (Plt).

“We reported it in July 2022, in a letter we sent to the Acting Regent. Cases that are potentially outbreaks in nature, we write to the Acting Regent,” said Agus.

According to him, several efforts were made to 18 measles sufferers, namely in the form of treatment through the local health center. One of them was rushed to the Leuwiliang Regional General Hospital (RSUD).

“There is not a single case of death. Then we also make efforts related to management, because measles can be prevented by immunization,” said Agus Fauzi.

At that time, continued Agus, the Bogor District Health Office immediately held mass immunization in conjunction with the implementation of the National Child Immunization Month (BIAN). “All without looking at the status of the vaccine, we do mass immunization against measles, which combines activities with BIAN. Whether you want measles or not, we are immunized,” said Agus.

Head of Disease Prevention and Control (P2P) of the Bogor District Health Office, Adang Mulyana, said the outbreak status in Tenjo ended 10 days after 18 cases of measles were found. “(KLB) we do two incubation periods. After 20 days we monitored that there were no additional cases, so the outbreak was over at that time,” explained Adang.
