Lion Air aircraft with flight number JT 797 crashed into Garbarata Mopah Merauke Airport, South Papua. The police explained the seconds the Lion Air plane crashed into Garbarata Mopah Merauke Airport.
“It happened that the plane wanted to turn around towards the flight runway. There was Garbarata, the plane crash wing section,” said Merauke Police Chief AKBP Sandi Sultan, as quoted detikSulselThursday (26/1/2023).
The plane was carrying 117 passengers. Sandi said the incident occurred at 09.10 WIT and there were no victims.
Sandi explained that the plane landed at Mopah Airport after completing the Jayapura-Merauke route. The plane actually wanted to fly back to Jayapura.
“He was from Merauke wanting to go to Jayapura, the incident happened,” said AKBP Sandi.
