A 56-year-old woman from Emsdetten received a WhatsApp message on Tuesday afternoon (January 24) that supposedly came from her daughter. In the course of the communication, the alleged daughter asked the woman to make a transfer in the four-digit euro range for her. The woman complied with the request, but her financial institution drew her attention to this dubious transfer. As a result, the amount was not assigned and the 56-year-old suffered no damage.
The police again warn of this scam. Always be careful with such demands that you receive via messenger. It is best to always contact the person who allegedly sent the message personally.
