Update iOS 16.3 Now, Brings Streamed Screen Improvements and New Features

JawaPos.com – Apple recently improved the security of the iOS operating system for iPhone devices. Apple released an update or software update for iOS version 16.3.

In this new operating system, what’s exciting is that for the first time, iOS users can use a physical security key for two-factor authentication (2FA) from their Apple ID. Previously, this feature had been hinted at by Apple since last year.

This new feature, announced by the company last year, adds another layer of protection for those facing security threats that are not uncommon for niche users such as celebrities, journalists and government employees.

This physical key support is expected to prevent phishing scams, which can trick users into allowing intruders access via 2FA. Using a device like the YubiKey means only those with access to the physical key can log into your account.

While some security locks plug into the iPhone’s Lightning port, most use USB. However, NFC and Bluetooth locks should work with iPhone, and you can connect Apple’s USB to Apple Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter.

IOS 16.3 also includes an update for SOS emergency control. You can still call emergency services by holding down the power and volume-up buttons, but now, it won’t dial 911 until you release it. This allows you to cancel before emergency services are notified.

This OS update also adds bug fixes for issues such as scratches not appearing on the shared board in the Freeform app, horizontal lines appearing on the iPhone 14 Pro Max after a restart and a bug that prevented the “Home” lock screen widget from displaying app state.

Lastly, the OS added support for the new second-generation HomePod. If you have a compatible device, you can install the update by going to Settings > General > Software Update.
