53 specialized workshops will be held for the best experts in photography and cinematography, as part of the activities of the seventh session of the International Photography Festival “Exposure”, which will be held at the Sharjah Expo Center from February 9 to 15 next, in order to meet the needs of all those interested in visual arts and their artistic levels, in an opportunity available to everyone to develop Their skills and abilities in the art of photography.
The festival provides an ideal space for photographers seeking to gain experience and professional capabilities in different fields, from those who use their smartphones to directors of artistic photography.
Photographer Roland Pokrioca presents two workshops on the “Adobe Lightroom” program. In the first, he explains an introduction to the program’s techniques and uses, while in the second he deals with organizing and editing images, with a focus on the processes of formatting and preparing images for printing, while the expert photographer in the program provides many important tips to learn its secrets.
For those wishing to practice photography from beginners, Bukrioca presents a “Photography Secrets” workshop, after which the participants will be able to launch themselves into the world of this art, through which they will be introduced to camera settings, basic photography equipment and tools, planning to take pictures, lighting, framing techniques, and different creative approaches. It also offers another training course entitled “Basic Skills in Photography” for amateurs and professionals, in addition to a workshop on “The Magic of Time”, which introduces participants to how to use different shutter speeds, especially in sports, motion or space images.
From digital to manual
In the “Street Life Photography Skills” workshop, photographer Rob Irving presents the techniques of photographing street life, the installation of image elements, the pivotal moment, and legal considerations. He also introduces participants to the workshop “Why is communication and interdependence important in photography?” On the concept of interaction and its role in capturing better images, as well as strategies for interacting with subjects and environments, understanding human nature, initial inspection and other factors.
Irving’s training workshops cover a wide variety of fields targeting different types of audiences. He offers those interested in cinematography a workshop entitled “The Importance of Filming Films”, which deals with the initial inspection of the scene, the principle of the decisive moment, the added value of mental focus when filming, as well as an in-depth understanding of the art of cinematography in general. While moving through the “Smartphone Photography” workshop, it introduces how to take high-quality photos that simulate the quality of professional photographers’ work using smartphones that everyone can use.
Mastering commercial photography
Philip Lee Harvey, a commercial photographer and filmmaker included in the list of the “Lurtzer Archive” magazine for the best 200 advertising photographers in the world, presents three multifaceted workshops, which are “Projects Implemented for Magazines and Publicity Campaigns”, and the “Video Shooting for Photographers with Your Own Touch” workshop. In addition to a workshop entitled “Picturing Life: Capturing Narrative Moments”, in which Lee Harvey shares his experiences, expertise and multiple skills, starting with preparing articles, comics, large advertising campaigns, and even making short films.

The Exposure Festival program aims to provide workshops to improve photography skills at various levels, specializations and fields, as evidenced by the great diversity of topics and professional and creative backgrounds of the trainees, while Daniel Cheung introduces the participants to ways to build future worlds in the “Creating Future Worlds” workshop. The festival targets its visitors, young adults and youth, through artistic biography evaluation sessions, under the supervision of a group of experts and pioneers of the photography industry in the world, to evaluate works and provide direct observations and instructions.
