Putri Kusuma Wardani made it through to the last 16 of the Indonesia Masters 2023 after a dramatic win over Aya Ohori with a score of 21-17, 23-25, 23-21 in 1 hour 28 minutes.
The duel between Putri KW and Aya Ohori took place fiercely in the first game. Putri KW had led 4-1 but then the score was tied several times.
Draw numbers occurred at 4-4, 6-6, 8-8, to 11-11. Aya Ohori had turned to lead 12-11 in the middle of the second game.
But then Putri KW was able to give a good reaction. Putri KW won six consecutive points and won 17-12.
Even though Aya Ohori tried to catch up, Putri KW was still able to maintain a point difference of three points at 19-16.
Aya Ohori’s shot then reduced the gap to 17-19. KW’s daughter then countered in the next game. Smashing hard at the net brought him to a game point at 20-17.

In the deciding game, Putri KW trailed 2-4. Putri KW had equalized at 6-6 but then came back behind 8-12.
Putri KW had won two points in a row but then Aya Ohori pulled away again with a score of 14-10.
Putri KW again showed persistent resistance. He can get three points in a row and close at 13-14.
In a threatened condition, Aya Ohori again won three consecutive points and again moved away at 17-13. Aya Ohori maintains a four-point lead at 18-14.
Putri KW won the next point through a fierce rally. Putri KW narrowed the point gap to 16-18 after Aya Ohori’s punch left the field.
Putri KW closed again at 17-18 after winning a shootout. The intense pressure from Princess KW managed to force Aya Ohori to make a mistake. Score draw at 18-18.
Putri KW finally turned around to lead 19-18 after Aya Ohori was too strong to return the shuttlecock so she left the field.

Aya Ohori then won the match point first after Putri KW’s unexpected shot that was placed in front of the net. Then the score was tied at 20-20 when Aya Ohori smes off the field.
Aya Ohori again won a match point at 21-20 after her smash slid into Putri KW’s defense.

Putri KW instead got a match point at 22-21 after Aya Ohori’s smack stretched out of the field and was left by Putri KW. The victory finally belonged to Princess KW after Aya Ohori’s punch came out. Putri KW won 23-21 in the deciding game.
