Relief for Lakshadweep former MP; The High Court stayed the execution of Muhammad Faisal’s sentence

Kochi: Lakshadweep ex-MP in attempted murder case The High Court stayed the execution of Muhammad Faisal’s sentence.

The former MP is against the 10-year prison sentence. Approached the court. All the four accused in the case may be released from jail soon. The judgment was delivered by Justice Bechu Kurian Thomas.

Four people, including Muhammad Faisal and his brother, were sentenced to ten years in prison. The execution of this judgment has been stayed pending a final verdict from the Supreme Court. The High Court verdict was in an appeal filed by the defendants, including Faisal, against the order of the trial court.

Faisal was appointed MP. After he was disqualified from the post, a by-election was announced in Lakshadweep. The Election Commission had announced that the by-election will be held on February 27.
