The start of the massive Covid-19 and flu vaccination process without the need for an appointment at the ‘Río Tajo’ health center in Talavera this Monday, January 23, has been more than moderate. This new vaccination campaign, which is carried out in all the municipalities of Castilla-La Mancha with integrated area managements -including Talavera- seeks to attract all those users over 12 years of age who have not completed the Covid vaccine regimen and facilitate access to the population to this process as well as to immunization against influenza.
Despite this, on the first day, barely thirty people passed through the ‘Río Tajo’ health center to receive the dose of the coronavirus vaccine, as reported to La Tribuna by the deputy director of Nursing, Susana Fernández Crespo. Most of them, according to her, went there to be given the Covid vaccine and a smaller percentage to also receive the flu vaccine.
This campaign is carried out in the morning and afternoon, specifically in the Continuing Care area of this health center located at Calle Viena, 1. It is an area “independent of the usual area for routine care”, in such a way ” that does not interfere with the normal care activity of the center”.
This vaccination without an appointment already works from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. uninterrupted through a campaign that, for the moment, does not have an end date, but will depend on the demand of the population.
Vaccination and consultations. The Area Management encourages the population to come to the center not only to receive the corresponding vaccine or vaccines, but also “to update and see the situation and vaccination status of each of the users.” Thus, you can go both to the ‘Río Tajo’ center and to those in the rest of the health area to see how many doses have already been administered.
In this sense, Fernández Crespo recalled that this process without an appointment is “independent” of the vaccination that is carried out routinely in health centers, since what it does is come “to increase the usual offer that already exists » in them and in no case replaces it.
