The Saudi Council of Ministers decided, during its session held today (Tuesday) under the chairmanship of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, at Irqah Palace in Riyadh, to extend the work of items (second) and (third) of Cabinet Resolution No. (515) dated 1441/ 14/8 – regarding the exemption of small establishments with a total of nine workers or less, including the owner, from paying the financial fees for a period of three years – for a period of one year from the date of the end of the period referred to.
At the beginning of the session, the Cabinet reviewed the content of the two messages that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince and Prime Minister received from the President of the Republic of Gambia, and the President of the transitional period, the President of the Republic of Chad.
After that, the Council reviewed the entirety of the state’s work on the political and economic levels during the past days. Especially aimed at strengthening international cooperation in various fields, and finding more innovative and joint solutions to meet global challenges.
In this regard, the Cabinet noted what Saudi Arabia’s participation in the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum held in Davos, Switzerland, included in highlighting the progress made within the framework of “Vision 2030” to reach a prosperous and diversified economy that is open to opportunities for joint cooperation with the world, and its active contributions and initiatives. international organizations in supporting the stability and growth of the global economy, preserving the environment and limiting climate change.
The Minister of State, Member of the Council of Ministers for Shura Council Affairs, Acting Minister of Information, Dr. Essam bin Saad bin Saeed, stated that the Council praised the outcomes of the thirteenth meeting of the Saudi-Swiss Joint Economic Committee held in Zurich, and the signing of memorandums of understanding to expand the scope of cooperation between the two countries and take advantage of the available opportunities. in various fields.
The Cabinet followed the latest developments on the regional and international arenas, reiterating in this context the Kingdom’s position calling for spreading the values of dialogue, tolerance and coexistence and rejecting the causes of hatred and extremism.
The Council reviewed the topics on its agenda, including topics that the Shura Council participated in studying. It also reviewed the conclusions of the Council of Economic and Development Affairs, the Council of Political and Security Affairs, the General Committee of the Council of Ministers, and the Council of Experts in the Council of Ministers.
The council concluded the following:
First:
Authorizing the Minister of Foreign Affairs – or his representative – to discuss with the Costa Rican side a draft general agreement for cooperation between the government of Saudi Arabia and the government of the Republic of Costa Rica, sign it, and then submit the final signed copy, to complete the regular procedures.
Second:
Authorizing the Minister of Culture – or his representative – to discuss with the Nigerian side a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the cultural field between the Ministry of Culture in Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Handicrafts in the Republic of Niger, sign it, and then upload the final signed copy, to complete the formal procedures.
Third:
Approval of an agreement on labor cooperation for employment between the Government of Saudi Arabia and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Fourthly:
Approving the updated schedule of commitments for Saudi Arabia for trade in services within the framework of the World Trade Organization, and authorizing the Minister of Commerce, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Foreign Trade – or his representative – to present the updated schedule of commitments for Saudi Arabia for trade in services within the framework of the World Trade Organization, according to the procedures followed by the Trade Organization Globalism.
Fifth:
Approval of the amendments adopted by the IMO Assembly to the IMO Convention concluded in Geneva in 1948.
Sixthly:
Approval of Saudi Arabia’s accession to the memorandum of agreement of the Regional Safety Oversight Organization for Middle East and North African countries.
Seventh:
Authorizing the Minister of Education, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation – or his representative – to discuss with the Austrian side a draft memorandum of understanding in the field of technical and vocational training between the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation in Saudi Arabia and the Federal Ministry of Labor and Economy in the Republic of Austria, and sign it, and who Then upload the final signed copy, to complete the legal procedures.
