The team of the Regional Hemotherapy Center will receive blood donations from all groups and factors on Thursday 26 in the Ciudad del Milagro neighborhood of the capital of Salta.
The reception of donations is open to the entire community and will take place at the Universal Church, located at Avenida Ejército Argentino 240, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Volunteers are requested to come with their identity document and without fasting.
The objective of the collection is to have a sufficient quantity of blood components to transfuse pediatric and adult patients throughout the province.
Who can donate
People between 16 and 65 years of age,
With a minimum body weight of 50 kilos,
·No history of heart, lung, liver, chagasic, oncological, infectious or other potentially risky disease for the recipient.

Pregnant or women who are breastfeeding
Those who have undergone surgery in the last 12 months
·Those who have had a piercing or tattoo done in the last 12 months.
·Those who have had an endoscopy or colonoscopy in the last six months.
Other data
·People who have received the COVID-19 vaccine can donate 72 hours after inoculation, if they do not present symptoms.
·Those who have had COVID-19 and have overcome the disease can donate after 14 days of being discharged.
·Those who have received antibiotic medication should wait 7 days from the last dose.
· A person can donate blood with a minimum interval of two months. Men can do it up to four times a year, and women up to three times.
·Each person who donates blood can save up to three or four lives.
Before the donation is completed, the volunteer receives clear and precise information, a confidential interview is carried out and a medical professional carries out the clinical control, consisting of taking the pulse, blood pressure, temperature and hemoglobin level.
If the person is able to donate, the extraction is carried out, following strict biosafety regulations.
Donor Need
The Regional Hemotherapy Center recalls the importance of having voluntary and regular donors, since the need for blood components is permanent and availability is low.
Those who wish to donate spontaneously can do so at Bolívar 687 (Salta), from Monday to Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturdays, from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Bone marrow
During the collection, CUCAI Salta staff will inform attendees about the donation of bone marrow for transplantation to people with blood diseases, such as leukemia, aplastic anemia, lymphoma, myeloma, thalassemia, metabolic errors or immunological deficiencies.
Likewise, it will register potential donors, who must donate a unit of blood for studies to determine genetic data and subsequent incorporation into the national registry of volunteers.
