An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.8 was registered on Tuesday in northern India. This shows a reference on the site of the European Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC).
The epicenter was about 148 km east of the city of Pithoragarh in the state of Uttarakhand.
Tremors were felt in New Delhi and across Nepal.
There were no reports of damage or casualties.
