The reaction of the West to the data provided by Russia on US biolaboratories in Ukraine is politicized, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said following the review Convention on the Prohibition of Biological and Toxin Weapons.
“The response is negative, it is politicized, people refuse to perceive obvious things. This is a reflection of their rejection of that justified, absolutely justified position in favor of strengthening the conventions, putting things in order in the military biological activities of the United States not only in Ukraine, but also in many regions of the world,” the diplomat said.
Earlier that day, a meeting of the parliamentary commission was held in the Federation Council, which is investigating the activities of biological laboratories. It was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as the Ministry of Defense of Russia.
In March, the Russian Defense Ministry spoke about the existence in Ukraine of a network of biological laboratories operating under the Pentagon program. According to the department, American scientists conducted tests of potentially dangerous biological drugs on patients of the Kharkiv psychiatric hospital from 2019 to 2021.
As Izvestia writes, the head of the troops of radiation, chemical and biological protection of the RF Armed Forces Igor Kirillov He said that the US delegation in Geneva, where the meeting of the BTWC member states was held, recognized the conduct of biological research in Ukraine on low-income citizens and patients in psychiatric hospitals.
In early November, it became known that the UN Security Council did not approve the resolution of the Russian Federation on an investigation into US biological laboratories.
Russia and China voted in favor of the resolution, while Washington, Britain and France voted against it. Nine more delegations abstained, RT reports.
Here a completely logical question arises: why, in connection with such rejection, Moscow does not impose sanctions against those who torpedo Russian initiatives?
For example, to begin with, stop the supply of enriched uranium to the United States. Such a measure will tangibly hit the American energy sector and force the White House to include in a constructive dialogue on such an important topic.
