The FFBB, through the staff of the French men’s basketball team, unveiled this Monday noon the list of 14 players who will participate in the international matches in February. As usual, the NBA players are absent but the troop is well stocked, with history, newcomers… and the presence of Victor Wembanyama.
Come on, let’s put the cover back! For the second gathering since the end of Eurobasket, Vincent Collet and his team have therefore called up fourteen players to participate in two qualifying matches for the 2023 World Cup. The Blues are already qualified, but it will be necessary to be serious to face the Czech Republic in Pardubice on Thursday February 23 at 6 p.m. After this trip, the France team will return to the country to settle in Trélazé, in the suburbs of Angers. They will face Lithuania on Sunday February 26 at 6 p.m. at the Arena Loire.
In the group ? Well-known faces, since Andrew Albicy will be there, as will Terry Tarpey, who missed the last November window with a hand injury. The two thieves will be in charge of a list also including the names of Yoan Makoundou, Sylvain Francisco, Juhann Begarin and Ismael Kamagate. Also note the presence of Paul Lacombe Damien Inglis and Nicolas Lang. Hugo Benitez will return after a premiere in February 2022.
A group almost unchanged 💪

Victor Wembanyama will be present, after two games around twenty points in November. Pierre Pelos, from JL Bourg, is called up for the first time while Malcolm Cazalon and Bodian Massa, who were selected in November without being called up for the matches, will try to secure their place this time.
The objective of these two meetings? Retain the first place in the group and offer a place of choice for the draw of the groups of the group stage of the World Cup. We will have to play seriously, but Vincent Collet’s team has all the weapons to triumph this winter.
