ACADEMIE DE DIJON – Job cuts to the detriment of students

In the aftermath of a massive strike against a completely unfair and unjustified pension reform, the CFDT, UNSA, FO and FSU federations were to sit on the Social Administration Committee at the Dijon rectorate. It was planned to review the means for the start of the 2023 school year. Means which will be greatly reduced at the start of the next school year, 72 positions cut in the 1st degree, 105 cut in the second degree.

So yes indeed the numbers are down slightly in the academy, but while we could have reduced the numbers per class in a country which has the busiest primary and middle school classes in the OECD, the ministry is doing quite a different choice. It is again the working conditions of the staff, the learning conditions of our students, the possibilities of replacement which will be impacted at the start of the next school year.

While our students are still suffering the consequences of school years greatly disrupted by COVID, no serious catch-up system has been put in place.

To denounce this, all the elected trade unions have decided to boycott this CSA and are asking the ministry for another choice for the school, another choice for our students, another choice for the staff!

We will sit on the postponement date of this CSA on Thursday, February 2.
