For researcher has confirmed the existence of an exoplanet, which is formally classified as LHS 475 b. This planet was first discovered using the NASA/ESA/CSA James Webb Space Telescope (JWST). The research team was led by Kevin Stevenson and Jacob Lustig-Yaeger, both of the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, Maryland.

The research team chose to observe this target with the James Webb Space Telescope after carefully reviewing data from the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) NASA which indicates the existence of the planet.

Near-Infrared Spectrograph (NIRSpec) teleskop James Webb menangkap planet this easily and clearly with just two transit observations. “There is no doubt that planets exist. Webb’s original data validates it,” said Lustig-Yaeger quoted from the astrobiology page, Saturday (21/1/2023).
