One insider previously talked about Microsoft working on a Gears of War collection similar to 2014’s Halo MCC. The initial rumors surfaced over a year ago, but rumors have recently resurfaced that the Gears of War Collection still exists.
On the latest episode of the Xbox Era podcast, insider Shpeshal_Nick showed an image showing the Gears of War 6 and Ultimate Collection logos. The previous job posting already hinted that The Coalition was developing the next Gears game, so this shouldn’t come as a surprise.
But the image seems to add more legitimacy to Nick’s previous Gears of War remaster leaks. Recently, reliable leaker Jez Corden also claimed that he thought the Gears Collection might be coming, but that was just his speculation.
It should also be noted that Nick himself is not completely convinced of the veracity of this image, so you should take this with a grain of salt. However, the insider was also asked not to show the entire image. The logos shown on the podcast have been cropped, further adding to the mystique surrounding the alleged leak. He said the following:
But remember that he is also circumcised. There are other things that I was asked not to show.
The Gears compilation doesn’t seem like a bad move on Microsoft’s part, and it’s surprising the games haven’t received remasters yet. Gears is currently one of the best games on Xbox and many fans will be happy to get more Gears content.
Judging by previous rumors, the announcement may take place this year. The remaster will also bring older Gears games to PC platforms, bringing more players to the franchise.
