Approved the line of aid and subsidies to non-profit sports entities in Valencia for a value of 1,030,000 euros

The Valencia City Council has approved in the Local Government Board the payment of aid and subsidies for sports projects developed by non-profit entities in the city of Valencia during the 2021-2022 season. The aid has an amount of 1,400,000 euros.

This is the first call for subsidies that recovers the normal and habitual distribution prior to the covid-19 pandemic, after in recent years the aid had been intended to maintain activity and alleviate the exceptional situation experienced by the sport of Our city.

On this subject, the Councilor for Sports, Javier Mateo, has indicated that “these subsidies are for sports projects for the 2021-2022 season with 1,400,000 euros to promote competitive sport, sport for all, sport in school age and sporting events.

Specifically, with regard to competitive sports, the distribution has been 597,800 euros for high-level sports and official competitions; 280,000 euros for projects aimed at children under 18 in school sports; another 280,000 euros for non-competitive grassroots sports projects aimed at the adult population over 18 years of age and 242,200 euros for special, relevant and popular sporting events, which includes the celebration of Spanish championships, king’s or queen’s cups, federated international events, popular races and others.

The budget has been distributed, in total, among 107 clubs, federations, and non-profit sports entities and associations in the city. In this sense, the councilor has pointed out that, with these grants, “we continue to deepen the image of Valencia as a city in which sport reaches every corner and at all ages and which also promotes the positioning of Valencia as the city of sport”.
