“We all as a society must unite in the fight against cancer. It is up to us to raise awareness and communicate prevention methods for this disease. For this reason, Chery is once again committed to supporting the cause with our alliance with Oncosalud for the prevention of skin cancer,” said Raúl Aragón, General Manager of Chery in Peru.
Today solar radiation is extremely high. For this reason, Chery and Oncosalud give us some tips to take care of ourselves and prevent skin cancer:
Use Sunscreen: It is crucial to use a sunscreen or blocker with SPF 50 or higher every day even if the sky is cloudy. It is important to reapply it every two hours and after leaving the water. In addition, it is recommended to wait 15 minutes after application before exposing yourself to the sun. Remember that protection is vital.
Wear a wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses: Apart from protecting the skin of the face, it is important to protect other delicate areas exposed to the sun such as the shoulders and chest, therefore, it is recommended to wear wide-brimmed hats or caps to keep these areas of the body out of the sun’s radiation. Also, use sunglasses with UV protection to prevent our eyes from being exposed to ultraviolet rays.
Visit your dermatologist once a year: Do not forget to go to the dermatologist at least once a year for a preventive check-up for spots or moles that could become cancerous and lead to melanoma.
