They follow up on a complaint of real estate fraud filed by an Arizona senator; witness is missing, affirms the Secretary of Government, Álvaro Bracamontes.
The investigation into real estate fraud that had been reported by people from USA with properties in Sonorais very advanced, however, the main witness is missing and that has stopped the process, informed Álvaro Bracamonte Sierra.
The Secretary of Government explained that the investigation into this case presented in Puerto Penascoremains active, although it has stopped a bit since the whereabouts of one of the witnesses in the case is sought.
“We have the case that was denounced by a senator in Arizona, we are following it up because there are complaints and integrated folders and the criminal case is very advanced, however, the problem is that the main witness is missing.
“He is nowhere to be found and we are even afraid that he is not in the state or in the country, so we have been looking for new informants, new witnesses that allow us to strengthen the investigation and proceed as the matter dictates”he claimed.
As a result of this case, the state administration learned that there are USAcomplaints filed for similar fraud actions, said Bracamonte Sierra.
“We know that, regarding this well-known case, the information was also derived that in USA I was putting together a folder of around 30 reports of similar cases; We have integrated a team that is assessing the situation, a part of it has even traveled to Phoenix, to document itself well and find out if these cases are indeed similar to the one I am referring to “he explained.
However, the investigation has not advanced since the information available is very scarce, indicated the state official, who added that people have not properly reportedalthough they will look for it to be carried out formally to resolve the cases and not to damage the image of the state.
