The Belgium international is one of the best goalkeepers in Belgium, having spent most of his career at Standard de Liege with spells also at Bordeaux, Brescia, Ravenna and Beveren.
On August 21, 2008, he was placed under an arrest warrant and imprisoned in Dinant prison for trafficking in counterfeit money. He was also arrested after his complicity in a robbery that took place on Sunday August 17, 2008 in the Domaine des Caves de Haan, where he worked.
In mid-December 2008, the Liège Indictment Chamber ordered his release in the context of counterfeit money trafficking however, he remains detained for the de Haan Caves robbery.
On December 30, the indictment chamber lifted the arrest warrant for this second case, and he was subsequently released on condition that a fine of 5,000 euros (in the context of the counterfeit money case) be paid the next day, thus he was released from prison on December 31, 2008.
