A mob from the Bandung Regency Community Alliance (AMKAB) staged a demonstration near the Si Jalak Harupat area, Soreang, Kabupaten Bandung.
The action was carried out as a form of rejection of Anies Baswedan’s arrival and campaign.
Collect Second, Sunday (22/1), mass action unfolded various attributes. They never stopped voicing their rejection of the activities carried out by Anies Baswedan.
Thousands of people were seen gathered for the action. The action was carried out in front of Anies Baswedan’s supporters who were passing through the area.
The action coordinator, Abie S, said the action was carried out suddenly, so that there were not as many as Anies supporters who attended the activity location.
“This is a spontaneous event from us. We represent the aspirations of the Bandung Regency community alliance,” Abie told the media crew, Sunday (22/1).
He said, his party wanted the election situation in Bandung Regency to run safely and conducively. Moreover, according to him, at this time Anies’ arrival smelled of a campaign.
“We know that the event held by Anies Baswedan is a healthy walk. But we see that many things have led, especially the party’s attributes, which have led to the campaign,” he said.
Abie wants Bawaslu to monitor these activities, so that they can examine the violations.
“We also question the Bawaslu to be able to control and monitor all of this. Can this be categorized as abuse or stealing. We will also coordinate with the Bawaslu regarding this issue,” he explained.
“Even if it turns out that this is a purely good walking event, we really support it. We also thank Mr. Anies. But if it turns out that this will only be used as a way for his plans going forward, now we as an alliance do not agree,” he added.
Abie explained that various attributes of the campaign should not be carried out at this time. According to him, this is something excessive.
“We can’t say whether it overlaps or not, we just saw that there were a number of these activities wearing attribute clothes that shouldn’t be worn now. If this is an event, take it easy, just take it easy. Because we saw an Anies poster too “There is one from Mr. Rajiv as well. That’s why we think this has started. We will try to confirm that with the Bawaslu, so we can carry out monitoring,” he said.
He wants society to have fair leaders. This can be done since he introduced it to the community from the start.
“The fair, which started from the beginning, has been the right process, it will definitely be right in the future. We, the Bandung Regency community alliance, want the 2024 election process to go according to procedure,” he said.
Abie added that according to the regulations, the campaign should have been carried out in November. But now the NasDem Party has started earlier.
“If we look at the rules from Bawaslu on November 28, 2023 the campaign will begin. So, he should be able to run it at that time. Don’t be afraid of losing your vote or anything. We, as a community, are already smart, which one is the appropriate leader we will choose,” said Abie.
On this occasion, the action did not last long. The demonstrators immediately dispersed.
Then at exactly 08.00 WIB, the presidential candidate from the NasDem Party, Anies Baswedan, arrived at the location. The convoy arrived and was immediately greeted by residents who had been waiting since morning.
“Anies president, Anies president, Anies president,” shouted the residents as Anies walked onto the event stage.
