Arsenal face Manchester United in the Premier League. Pep Guardiola emphasized not thinking about the game.
Arsenal vs Manchester United took place at the Emirates Stadium, Sunday (22/1/2023) evening WIB. The Red Devils are the only team this season to beat the London Cannons in the Premier League.
On the other hand, Arsenal are at the top of the standings with 47 points. Mikel Arteta’s team is currently five points ahead of Manchester City and also bagged one game less.
Looking at the situation in the standings, Guardiola as the manager of Man City emphasized that he did not really expect Man United to tackle Arsenal. The most important thing for him is to improve the team’s game, especially after trailing 0-2 to Tottenham Hotspur even though they were able to win 4-2 in the end.
“It’s not about that (hope Arsenal lose). If they lose to United but we don’t play well, we won’t chase them,” Guardiola said as quoted by AS.
“We need to change the style. If Arsenal continue to do what they have been doing until now and become champions, we will congratulate them. It is not about the distance we have traveled,” Guardiola emphasized.
Man City hosts Wolves at the Etihad Stadium, Sunday (22/1) evening WIB or earlier before the Arsenal vs Man United duel. A win against Wolves could put pressure on the Gunners.
