Juventus faces exclusion from the European Championships
The Italian Football Association announced that it has deducted 15 points from Juventus’ balance in the local league due to suspicious player transfer deals and fraud in the club’s financial statements.
The Italian Football Association Federal Court also decided to suspend some officials in the club’s previous administration, including former president Andrea Agnelli, who will be suspended for two years, after new evidence from a separate criminal trial into the club’s financial affairs.
Fabio Paratici, the current sports director of Tottenham and former Juventus, was suspended for two and a half years due to the case, in addition to stopping Maurizio Arrivabene, the former executive director, for two years, and Federico Kerubini, a former board member, for a year and four months.
Former Vice President Pavel Nedved will also be suspended for eight months. And the deduction of points will push him to fall to the middle of the table, outside the qualifying positions for the European championships.
