Images circulating on social media show anti-aircraft systems mobile The Pantsir-S1 is stationary on the roof of a building in downtown Moscow, about 2 km (1.2 miles) east of the Kremlin.
The Pantsir-S1 system was also seen installed on the roof of the Ministry of Defense building located along the Moskva River road across from Gorky Park.

Asked whether Russia was concerned Moscow could become a target for an attack, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov referred the question to the Defense Ministry.
“They are responsible for ensuring the security of the country in general and the capital in particular, therefore it is better to ask the Ministry of Defense about all the measures taken,” Peskov told reporters, as quoted AFPSaturday (21/1/2023).
The Ministry of Defense did not immediately respond to requests for comment from journalists.
The Pantsir-S1 is an air defense system designed to protect critical areas from a variety of weapons including aircraft and ballistic and cruise missiles.
Independent Russian-language media reported that another Pantsir system was installed about 10 km (6 miles) from President Vladimir Putin’s residence in Novo-Ogaryovo outside Moscow.
