Scouts report that the invaders are poorly equipped, poorly trained and suffer heavy losses in the Donetsk region.
Russian troops will not be able to carry out an offensive in the Zaporozhye region in order to continue the seizure of Ukrainian territories. Such an assumption in Twitter published by the Canadian Armed Forces, citing intelligence data.
The Canadian military writes that, together with international partners, they intend to identify and refute disinformation spread by the Kremlin about the situation in Ukraine. Recently, the Russian occupation authorities in the Zaporozhye region announced preparations for an offensive next spring to make a breakthrough and capture the rest of the region, and the Canadians were quick to expose them.
According to Canadian intelligence, Russian troops have been building stationary defensive structures and strengthening their positions in the occupied areas of the Zaporozhye region for several months already – this indicates that in fact the Russians are seriously afraid of the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which intend to liberate the occupied lands.
“Weakly equipped and insufficiently trained Russian troops will most likely not be able to carry out a successful offensive on the Zaporozhye front in the coming months,” the press service of the Canadian Armed Forces notes.
In the meantime, according to intelligence reports, Russia is throwing large resources into attempts to seize new territories in the Donetsk region, neighboring Zaporozhye. The defenders of Ukraine inflicted great damage on the Russian army, but the occupiers themselves were only able to move slightly in this direction.
On December 12, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced that Russia may launch an offensive on the left-bank part of the Zaporozhye region. According to Brigadier General Aleksey Gromov, in the near future, the Russians will try to reach the borders of the Donetsk region, in order to then send their forces to Zaporozhye.
On January 17, it was reported that in the State Duma they hung a new map of the Russian Federation with the captured regions of Ukraine, including Zaporozhye and Kherson. The regions are listed within their administrative boundaries, although in reality the Russians do not fully control any of them.
