Culture and nightlife, Stayclassy | This is how the entrepreneur responds after the Spleis stop: – A lot of harassment and harassment

– It works. I’m ashamed. I wear a Santa costume to the store, says Thomas Holstad in the live broadcast.

It was on Thursday 19 January that Holstad started a joint to generate income for himself.

The goal was to collect NOK 500,000. The collection ended up receiving just under NOK 9,000.

Friday morning reported E24 that the splice is stopped.

– We have gone through the splice now, and after an overall assessment we have concluded that this is not the type of collection we want to have at Spleis. We have therefore chosen to stop this splicing, and the collector has been notified of this, writes communications manager Tone Mesna at Spleis to the newspaper.

Received a notice of a million fine

Holstad has not been uncontroversial. The company has previously been notified of a million fine from the Norwegian Consumer Protection Authority. In addition, Mads Hansen has accused him of cheating in a competition.

AO has previously written that the company’s shops, which among other things sell electric scooters, were closed on the day. A note from the District Attorney hung on the door.

In an interview with Avisa Oslo in 2021, Holstad said that he had a goal of a turnover of NOK 500 million by 2026.

– The bastard must be taken

On the TikTok broadcast from his own profile, Holstad answers questions from his followers.

While a sad melody can be heard in the background, Holstad answers the question “can’t you just give up?”

– That is, in a way, what I have done then. Then I asked for help to get up again. I have been fighting for a long time. It is … If a newspaper had written that Holstad was on TikTok for 24 hours straight in a heroic effort to correct everything that is wrong, because he wants the best for his customers, then it would have been a completely different story.

Holstad believes the media have decided that “the bastard must be taken”.

– Then it will be as it will be. I am powerless. I think it’s unfair and sad and I’m struggling a bit with how to deal with it. Maybe you have some tips, he says to the results of the broadcast.

To Avisa Oslo, Holstad elaborates that the media pressure was experienced as very overwhelming.

– It is fine that people disagree, but there is a lot of harassment and incitement which I think is sad to see.

He points out that 49 people had left a donation at the junction before it was stopped.

– I think it had gone very high. It is a signal that there is something jarring in the narrative here, says Holstad, who is critical of Splei’s reasoning for the suspension.

– I understand that people have a certain impression of me as I appeared in Oljebarna and Paradise Hotel, but it was many years ago and it was only a small picture of me.

He emphasizes that he has worked hard with his companies for many years.

– I have put in over 20,000 working hours in the last nine years here. I started with nothing. My life is at stake here, and it was the company I wanted to save.

– Perhaps unmusical

During his life on TikTok, Holstad receives a lot of negative comments in the comments section. Someone in the comment field writes that creating the splice was unmusical, but encourages people in the comment field to be nice to each other.

– I can understand that some people feel and think it was unmusical, but I don’t think some people know what I stand for, but that has nothing to do with it. I think that we should be nice to each other is a nice and constructive way of saying it, comments Holstad.

He emphasizes that it was not illegal to create the splice.

– It was perhaps unmusical, but from my point of view and where I am now, it was a way to do it.

When asked whether the merger was created for the company or he as a private individual, Holstad says that it was to save the company.

The money is not paid out

“Thomas leaves behind a very difficult year in 2022, and the start of 2023 looks dark,” wrote Holstad in the collection on Spleis.no, which is owned by Sparebank1.

Holstad does not receive the donations.

– They will be reimbursed to the donors, says Mesna.

Holstad himself reacts to the fact that the collection has been reduced.

– The fact that Spleis removes the splice and, in addition, returns everything that has been given in support voluntarily, feels like kicking down a man who is already down, he says.
