THE NEW MOON OF THE REVOLUTION – SIGN BY SIGN

Hello everyone! How are you? In the late evening of Saturday 21 January the Sun and the Moon join in the 1st degree of Aquarius to give life to the first new moon of this year! Not only that: it is also the second New Moon after the Winter Solstice, and this makes it coincide with the Chinese New Year and with the start of the Year of the Water Rabbit. And already these circumstances in some ways make it particularly interesting: in fact, considering that the New Moon in itself has all the power of beginningsthis New Moon in particular kicks off an extremely dynamic and interesting year.

As you may have read in my book”HOROSCOPE 2023 – THE ROUND OF THE YEAR IN 12 STAGES“, for all the zodiac signs, this is a year of great revolutions, in which the caps of everything that has kept us stuck for fear of taking a step in a different direction, for fear of judgment or of disappointing expectations of others. Or even out of simple insecurity or indecision. It is a year that leads us to take a more independent direction and, before that, to carry out an act of assertiveness and personal affirmation: «I am this, whether you like it or not!…

…and I’m no longer willing to sacrifice my personal uniqueness on the altar of a quiet life, to deny myself in order to keep balances that are starting to get tight for me». In short, a triumph of awareness and self-affirmation that we could express musically with masterpieces such as “I am what I am” by Gloria Gaynor, with “This is me” by Keala Settle (from the soundtrack of “The greatest shoman”) but also from our “Me ne frego” by Achille Lauro and from the less known “Giungla” by Erica Mou (“It looks good on the mannequin and not on me!”).

These, if you will, are my musical suggestions to get off on the right foot in a year that will change many situations and that will bring a breath of healthy “rebellion” and independence far and wide in the Zodiac. From this point of view, the first New Moon of the year which forms in Aquarius (sign of freedom and independence of judgment) marks an important starting point. It evokes precisely those first drums of the revolution that begin to roll, at first softly and then, gradually, in crescendo… until they reach their apex in the course of next spring.

But let’s proceed in order. The New Moon marks the beginning of a new lunar cycle and in this sense it is very similar to a “seed”. Something small, almost invisible (the New Moon cannot be seen with the eyes) but which has enormous growth potential within it. What we sow at the New Moon begins to take on clearer connotations fourteen days laterin this case with the neighbor’s Full Moon in Leo February 5th, which if we want represents a first roar of freedom and self-respect. On a larger scale then, and on a more structured basis, the effects of the New Moon are seen six months laterin this case with the Full Moon in Aquarius on August 1st.

And exactly halfway between these two moments (early February and early August), there is the sky in May, when Pluto will be in Aquarius and Jupiter will enter Taurus, where Uranus (the planet of great revolutions) has already passed since 2018 ). That probably means that in many cases the “fuse” that lights up with this New Moon will lead to making different choices (in many cases also of “break” with the past) in the heart of springand will lead us to a touch the promised land of a new life in the summer.
