Panamanian government will buy more bivalent vaccines – Inf. General

(Panama City-ANPanama) The Vice Minister of Health Ivette Berrío indicated that the Government of Panama through the Ministry of Health (Minsa), has managed the arrival of more doses of the bivalent vaccine aimed at reducing the impact of both the original strain of the coronavirus and the omicron variant, reiterated that the inoculation process for health personnel and all security forces has already begun.

“At this very moment we have vaccine specialists led by the Minister of Health, Luis Francisco Sucre, idealizing the immunization plan at the national level,” Berrío mentioned.

He pointed out that the population will be informed about vaccination strategies and will be directed to where the population can go to receive their bivalent dose.

He argued that to receive the bivalent vaccine against Covid-19 the person must have at least two doses of the monovalent vaccine; According to the Expanded Immunization Program (PAI), the acquisition of about 1.7 million bivalent vaccines has been planned.
