Jakarta, CNNIndonesia —
Juventus subject to a penalty of deducting 15 points in the Italian League. The Bianconeri can still appeal this decision.
FIGC prosecutors decided to impose a point deduction penalty after Juventus was found guilty of breaching the financial statements in an investigation conducted by the FIGC.
The investigation, quoted from Sport Bibleregarding the method of payment they made to players throughout 2020 and 2021, when the players agreed to take a pay cut due to the impact of Covid-19.
By deducting 15 points, Juventus immediately fell to 10th place in the standings. Juventus’ points are now 22 points remaining.
Juventus are now 25 points away from Napoli who are at the top of the standings and 12 points behind Lazio in money
Even though before this incident occurred, Juventus was in a good trend by winning 24 points from nine matches played. Despite losing 1-5 to Napoli in the match, Juventus at least have a great chance to compete at the top.
Juventus can still appeal the 15-point deduction penalty. Thus the Bianconeri can still hope to get a lighter sentence than the current sanction.
Before this sentence was imposed, club officials including Pavel Nedved had already decided to resign from his position when Juventus’ financial condition began to be investigated.
