The head of the Karlovy Vary hospital himself drove an ambulance to save an injured woman. Dr. Obreyko Obreykov did not hesitate for a moment as to what to do after the emergency department in Karlovo informed him that a woman had been hit on a street in the city, and there was no available ambulance team to provide assistance.
The case is unprecedented both for the doctor himself and for the region.
It was around 11:30 a.m. when the Emergency Service called me and told me that there was a traffic accident on Dubensko Shosse Street in Karlovo, and the unit did not have a free team because at that time an emergency team was at an accident with a dead person on the Sub-Balkan road near Rozino, Dr. Obreykov told Maritsa. We did not know the condition of the woman who was hit by a car on Dubensko Shosse. I called an ER nurse and immediately went to the hospital ambulance before I called an ER nurse. We boarded and left, said the manager of the MBAL “Dr. Kiro Popov”.
This is the first case in Dr. Obreykov’s medical practice in which he drove an ambulance himself, although he worked as an emergency medic in Asenovgrad for four years.
I have the reflex to go immediately, the rush of adrenaline at this moment is strong, the desire to help is the leading one, explained the doctor.
The woman who was hit by a car on Dubensko Shosse Street in Karlovy Vary was left with minor injuries.
We brought her to the hospital to be examined and diagnosed, said the hospital manager. There were facial hematomas and abrasions, but no fractures or life-threatening injuries. At her request, she was discharged and released from the hospital, added Dr. Obreykov.
