HOCKEY ONLINE: The important battle between Varů and Kladno, the East Bohemian derby and the fight between Sparta and Kometa

Thanks to three consecutive away wins, the Pardubice hockey players atone for their home defeat against Sparta and lead the table ahead of Vítkovice by four points. Hradec Králové scored eight times in a row, of which they lost three times. Seven matches during this period were decided only in overtime. In mutual matches, both rivals have scored one win so far, taking advantage of the home environment.

Sparta continues to do well, and in case of success against Brno and Třinec’s hesitation in Mladá Boleslav, the people of Prague can already move up to third place. After Tuesday’s win over České Budějovice, they will play three more duels in front of their spectators. The team from Brno are in a significantly worse mood, as they have won only twice in the last ten starts, and seven times they did not score at all.

Mladá Boleslav has lost both of its previous matches with the Steelers, who stopped it in the semi-finals of the playoffs of the previous two seasons. However, under Jiří Kalous, the Central Bohemians did not come out empty handed and celebrated two wins from three starts. In the last round, Třinci’s winning streak stopped at number five, but against Mladá Boleslav, the defending champion won eleven matches in a row.

Vítkovice will start a series of five home matches with a duel with Liberec. With Sunday’s triumph over Karlovy Vary (3:1), the White Tigers snapped a streak of three defeats. With Ostrava, the North Bohemians have won only one point out of six possible in the season so far.

Karlovy Vary are only three points clear of Kladno from the penultimate place, which makes the match between them all the more important. The Knights want to bounce back from the performance from the first third of Wednesday’s duel with Pardubice, in which they tormented the leaders a lot. But in the end they lost 1:4.

In the remaining two matches, České Budějovice will welcome the hockey players of Plzeň, and Olomouc will compete with Litvínov. Both South Bohemia and Litvínov have 44 points, just like Karlovy Vary. Pilsen is sixth behind Hanáky by one point, and both teams can still confidently think about placing in the top four.
