CIUDAD VALLES.- After there was an emergency due to tetanus yesterday at the Zone 6 hospital of the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) and after many voices mentioned that there was a shortage of the tetanus vaccine, the head of the Sanitary Jurisdiction V, Gustavo Macías del Río assured that all units have this biological.
Tetanus is a latent bacterium (Clostridium tetani) that enters the body through contact in wounds with a contaminated surface and, if not treated in time, can cause severe muscle contractions and determine the death of the patient.
The doctor in charge of health in the north of the Huasteca explained that the biologicals are ready in the units, because it is a vaccine that is included in the basic vaccination schedule in this country.
