Founder of the Comma Theatre, Nano Riantiarno passed away at the age of 73 after battling a tumor on his left thigh and lung cancer.
The figure of Nano Riantiarno left deep sorrow for senior actors Mathias Muchus. Hearing the news of the departure, he immediately rushed to the funeral home on his motorcycle.
“Earlier I heard the news from my wife, he left early in the morning, that our friend Nano Riantiarno had left us. I was shocked, I was shocked, I quickly came here on a motorbike, found him here,” said Mathias Muchus when met at the Studio Theater Koma, Bintaro area, South Jakarta, Friday (20/1/2023).
Mathias Muchus remembers the figure of Nano Riantiarno, who in his eyes is worthy of being emulated and admired.
“The figure of Nano in my eyes is an exemplary person, a person who is consistent, a person who always answers all problems with work, that’s what makes me admire him,” said Mathias Muchus.
Nano Riantiarno’s works are deeply embedded in the memory of Mathias Muchus. He said Nano’s work is because it is very close to the realities of life and the social conditions of Indonesian society.
“This figure already has its own meaning for me, his work is intriguing and close to us. It doesn’t give much dream in work, but it explores more about the realities of life and social conditions,” said Mathias Muchus.
“That continuous every year until now, dozens of works have been published, and that is my admiration for Mas Nano,” he continued.
The departure of Nano Riantiarno made Mathias Muchus grieve. Even so, he hoped that the figure he admired would get the best place by His side.
“This departure makes us have to reflect again on how an artist in this era is more introspective,” said Mathias Muchus.
“Goodbye Mas Nano, may all sins be forgiven and placed on the best side. Amen,” he hoped.
