NEW YORK (Dagbladet): Earlier this week I wrote Daily Beast that the two very extreme candidates ended up in an argument on the first day the Congress was assembled on 3 January. It happened inside the ladies’ toilet.
Now Boebert has also confirmed some of the details from the argument that occurred between her and Greene in an interview with the conservative radio program «The Dana Show».
Got a Covid message: – Shut up
Confrontation
Greene allegedly came out of a cubicle and confronted Boebert. She is said to have been furious because Boebert received the support of the Republican leader, Kevin McCarthy, during his own election campaign, but now still would not vote for him for the position of speaker.
– Don’t be ugly, Boebert is said to have replied before Greene disappeared out of the toilet.
– I quite liked that story coming out because of how I was quoted. So yes, we talked in the ladies room. I was there with Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna. People are upset about what is happening with the speaker election. It had been going on for a couple of days, and we didn’t vote for Kevin McCarthy, and we hadn’t had our demands passed, Boebert tells “The Dana Show”.
Then she says that Greene came up to her. Greene had been an ardent campaigner to have McCarthy elected speaker.
The chaos has just begun
– Disgusting
– She was quite nasty about it. No one else had been nasty. Everyone had been very professional. So when she came after me, I looked at her and said: Don’t be ugly, Boebert explains.
– You were kind of best friends for a while, weren’t you? asks the presenter, Dana Loesch.
– I had nothing against her. We travel in the same circles, and have similar political positions in many areas – not everything – but in many areas. But yes, I looked at her and said: I don’t have time for this. Don’t be ugly. That was something my grandmother used to say to me when I behaved like a brat, says Boebert.
The atmosphere between the two far-right politicians has worsened in recent times.
Green also attacked Boebert on Twitter for not voting for McCarthy.
– Jewish lasers
“Americans expect conservative warriors like us to work together to save America, and that’s the only mission I’m 100 percent committed to, not high school drama and media headlines,” Greene wrote on Twitter 19. december.
Boebert, for his part, has bullied Greene into embracing absurd conspiracy theories, such as the theory that it was Jewish lasers in space that caused the wildfires in California, writes Huffington Post.
Rest before the decision
Greene broke with the other extreme Republicans when she wholeheartedly endorsed McCarthy as speaker. In her first term in Congress, Greene was removed from every committee she served on because of hate speech.
But now she has been handsomely rewarded for her support of McCarthy. He has placed her on two of the most powerful committees – the Homeland Security Committee and the Oversight Committee.
