Thinks the National Museum is hiding important works

Art historian Nestor Steinar Gjessing directs fierce criticism at the National Museum. – I am happy about the debate, replies director Karin Hindsbo.

The National Museum has an art collection of 100,000 works. In the collective exhibition, they show 6,500. So 6.5 per cent. The rest is in the magazines.

“In the National Museum, the public is only offered a superficial, rambling potpourri of works of art.” This is what the art historian Steinar Gjessing (age 75) writes in Klassekampen on Thursday.
