Amine Bassi goes to the United States

In June 2021, when he had barely pushed the doors of the Frescaty training center, the defector from ASNL thanked FC Metz for offering him a “childhood dream”, that of playing in Ligue 1. In the end, Amine Bassi will only have played five small matches (2 starts) in the elite before being loaned to Barnsley, in English D2.

After this rather successful passage in the North of England, the native of Bezons (25 years old) therefore returned to Lorraine with the firm intention of finally winning in the garnet jersey: he finally only appeared at four times in Ligue 2 this season (1 tenure in Bordeaux).

A two-and-a-half-year contract

Not entering into Laszlo Bölöni’s plan, Amine Bassi had not been called up to the pros since November and FC Metz was therefore looking for a way out for him during this winter transfer window. It is in the United States that the midfielder will pursue a career connected to alternating current and far from the promises seen during his time at AS Nancy-Lorraine.

Amine Bassi, who was linked with FC Metz until 2025, will join the Houston Dynamo club (4^e MLS Eastern Conference). Once the final administrative details have been settled, the formalization of his transfer (for a period of two and a half years) should take place in the coming days.
