NFT God lost his digital wealth by clicking on a hacked link

A well-known crypto investor and digital picture collector NFT God has been robbed by hackers. All of his cryptocurrencies and digital assets were stolen when he clicked on an OBS advertisement link posted by the attackers.

The link led to an OBS file that the investor had downloaded and tried to install on his machine in order to stream the games. However, nothing happened and NFT God did not attach any importance to this. He played a couple of hours of games, after which he went to meet the girl. On the way, he received a message that his Twitter account had been hacked. He quickly removed what the hackers posted, but that was just the beginning. Already at home after dinner, he received a message asking why he sold it to NFT, going to the site to check, he was shocked that a completely different wallet was indicated by the owner. At that moment, he realized that all of his assets had been stolen.

The main mistake of the investor was an attempt to install a file that was not downloaded from the official site. And also, apparently, the complete lack of protection at several levels, with verification by SMS or code.

That’s what he wrote on twitter:

I have lost a huge share of my fortune. I sat on the couch, dazed. I knew this was just the beginning. It wasn’t just a wallet hack. My entire digital fortune is under attack.

An investor who kept all his assets in one wallet also temporarily lost access to his business Twitter account. Moreover, his family members, friends and followers received messages with phishing links to rob them too. This includes 16,000 subscribers to his mailing list.

My Substack means more to me than anything else besides humanity. This is where I do my deepest personal work. This is where I create my community. This is my personal achievement, which I am proud of.

It’s amazing how easily crypto investors can lose their fortune when they become overconfident and don’t use even basic methods to protect against a potential hack.
