The Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG) publishes today a new call for a value of 1.4 million euros with which the Ministry of Employment Promotion and Equality will launch, through non-profit social initiative entities, programs aimed at women in situations of special vulnerability as victims of gender violence, sexual-labour exploitation, immigrants, returned emigrants or refugees, belonging to a minority or inmates, among others.
Under the call, entities that promote comprehensive resources that are specifically addressed to pregnant or lactating women in a situation of special vulnerability – with sons or daughters under three years of age – will receive funding to contribute to their personal, family and work development and their economic and emotional autonomy. Personalized and specialized care programs for women belonging to vulnerable groups will also be supported with actions in the field of psychological care, legal advice, mediation, acquisition of personal and social skills or job support and guidance.
The Xunta pursues with this initiative that women with the greatest difficulties can receive follow-up and also improve their employment options and social and personal expectations. For this reason, the actions must take into account the female differential and the promotion of equal opportunities as a basic element of specialized care.
The reference period for the development of the programs and for the allocation of eligible expenses will be between September 1, 2022 and August 31, 2023. The maximum amount of aid for beneficiary entities will be 40,000 euros. .
Aid can be requested from tomorrow and until next February 20.
In 2022, a total of 59 entities received these aids. With their programs they reached more than 3,800 women.
Since 2009, the Xunta de Galicia has allocated a total of 14.9 million euros to this line of support to finance programs in which more than 66,400 women took part in these conditions of special vulnerability.
The initiative is part of the measures being developed by the Xunta de Galicia within the framework of the VIII Strategic Plan for equal opportunities between women and men 2022-2027. With a budget of 935.5 million euros, the largest in the history of a planning document of these characteristics, it is developed with the challenge of advancing in the fight against discrimination and preventing gender violence to achieve gender equality. real and effective in all areas.
