Pereira’s Ministry of Health accepts the changes implemented in the PAI vaccination scheme

In addition, the Ministry of Health tells us that the pentavalent vaccine will be applied as the first booster at 18 months, replacing the DPT”. In this sense, he highlighted that in addition, in April 2023, within the framework of the National Vaccination Day of the Americas, there will be a change in the booster dose of the 5-year polio vaccine, which will go from being oral to injectable administration.

In the context of the above, the health leader stressed that the pentavalent or quintuple dose is the vaccine that protects against five diseases: Diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus, hepatitis B and haemophilus influenza type b. “Remember that the requirements to access the vaccination included in the PAI are: that the minor attend with an adult; carry identity document of the minor and the adult; present a vaccination card and most importantly: this is the greatest act of love with our little ones and it is FREE”, added Sánchez Gutiérrez. 2022 FIGURES Regarding the coverage figures with which the municipality of Pereira closed 2022 according to the biological tracer, third doses of pentavalent in children under one year of age, it was 90.1%, equivalent to 4,203 doses administered.
