The Memphis Grizzlies have continued their winning streak in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The Tennessee team defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers in dramatic fashion 115-114 at home on Wednesday and set a club record with their 11th straight win.
New Zealand’s Steven Adams scored the decisive basket with 16 seconds remaining with a tip-in after a missed attempt by high-flyer Ja Morant, who had 24 points.
The Denver Nuggets maintained their lead in the Western Conference with an eighth straight win, a 122-118 against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Top star Nikola Jokic scored his 14th triple-double of the season with 31 points, 13 assists and eleven rebounds.
The 27-year-old Serb has now also provided more assists than any player before him with 3,686 assists in Nuggets dress. With 13 losses each, Denver still has one win more than pursuers Memphis.
The Los Angeles Lakers can only dream of it. Another strong performance by LeBron James was of no use to the star ensemble in the 111:116 home defeat against the Sacramento Kings. The Lakers lost for the fourth time in the past five games and have to worry about making the playoffs.
