SHARJAH, 19th January / WAM / The Theater Department of the Department of Culture in Sharjah will organize the day after tomorrow the eighth edition of the Khorfakkan Theater Festival, which will present a group of local plays, events and competitions, in addition to many popular and modern performances that represent a group of world cultures.
The activities of the one-day festival start during the afternoon and continue until midnight. The first of its activities is the “March” procession that moves from the city center to the festival site in the open space of Khorfakkan Park – next to the Resistance Monument, where three platforms were designed that were distinguished by colors (blue, And red, and green) to host performances and extend in front of them areas that can accommodate hundreds of spectators.
The march is attended by a brass band, school groups, scouts, horsemen, circus and puppet performers, and classic car collectors with their vehicles decorated with pictures and dyes that match the cultural dimension of the demonstration, in addition to a group of flags and stars of drama and theater in the Emirates and the Gulf.
The march procession is followed by a popular show that represents the Egyptian culture and will be presented in (The Red Theatre), followed by two school theatrical performances that will be presented in (The Blue Theatre). .
And in the evening, the audience witnesses the show that won the Grand Prize of the last edition of the Kalba Festival for Short Plays, and it is entitled “Miss Julia”.. Then the festival’s paragraphs follow, as the audience will follow the Belarusian folklore show, then the play “I am complete” by the Sharjah Scouts Commission, after which it will be presented. A performance by Al-Habban instrument, followed by a program announcing the winning names in the “Festival Bride” and “Festival Princess” competitions.
The show program also includes the presentation of the children’s play “Peace Lake” presented by the Ras Al Khaimah Theater Group, and the successful comedy play “Kurcum and Bazar”, in addition to a variety of Indian and African folk arts that will accompany the program.
