US President Joe Biden’s administration will allocate $125 million for the purchase of power system devices and other equipment to help Ukrainian repair crews repair the power system damaged by Russian strikes, the head of the US Agency for International Development (USAID), Samantha Power, announced on Wednesday.
USAID plans to use the money to purchase backup power equipment for Kyiv’s water and district heating systems. The funding will also help replenish stocks of gas turbines, transformers and other vital energy equipment.
