While the RC Strasbourg is experiencing a delicate start to the season in Ligue 1, an unexpected departure is about to be finalized at the RCSA.
It was expected that RC Strasbourg would strengthen this winter in an attempt to move up the Ligue 1 table and away from the relegation zone, but so far this is not the case. Although the RCSA is trying to strengthen itself on the market, no arrival has yet been announced by the Alsatian club, whileAdrien Thomassonone of the club’s best players, left Strasbourg to join RC Lens last week.
While the RCSA’s main project seems to be the coaching position, still vacant following the dismissal of Julien Stéphan last week, RC Strasbourg will also reduce its workforce during this winter transfer window. The wish of RC Strasbourg seems clear, parting with several players who are not used, before recruiting new elements to bring some freshness to the current 16th in the Ligue 1 classification.
RC Strasbourg Mercato: Ronaël Pierre-Gabriel will leave the RCSA
According to information from The Team, Ronael Pierre-Gabriel should leave RC Strasbourg in the next few hours. Currently on loan to RCSA from German club Mainz, the right-back is expected to join Spain in the next few hours to sign up with theEspanyol Barcelona. The former ASSE player should therefore end his season away from Alsace and will have the mission of helping the Catalan club to stay in La Liga, before returning to Mainz at the end of the 2022-2023 financial year.
The passage of Ronaël Pierre-Gabriel at RC Strasbourg will not be remembered. Although he played 14 Ligue 1 games with the RCSA, the 24-year-old right defender has never burst the screen, and will have to wait a little longer before winning in France, after mixed spells at the AS Monaco and Stade Brestois.
