Al-Marsad Newspaper: A source at the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture said that the owners of the incident of slaughtering and cooking a foal in one of the stalls of Hafr Al-Batin Governorate have been referred for investigation.
The source indicated that it is forbidden to slaughter, sell, and cook horses, because there are no slaughterhouses or special sites, and that a license must be available, according to Al-Youm.
The source stated that the slaughter took place in an unlicensed location and without veterinary supervision.
The owner of the stud had coordinated with one of the chefs to slaughter and cook a foal that was no more than 4 months old, and he prepared various dishes, including smoked foal shoulder after cooking for 8 hours, and tagines consisting of foal meat and burgers, bukhari, and grilled foal ribs.
