PUSHED OUT: A car driver ended up off the road and hit this photo booth on Strømmen on the night of Wednesday.

A photo booth at Strømsveien in Strømmen may have snapped its ugly picture, when a car drove off the road and straight into the pole on the night of Wednesday.

The police were notified of the incident at 00:43, and are now working to find out what caused it.

At 1:42 they report that the driver, a 19-year-old man, has tested positive for drug use. The man is reported and his driver’s license confiscated. They first did a negative alcohol test.

– There were three people in the car, but no injuries. We took some time to find out who was the driver, says operations manager Gisle Sveen.

Despite the snow and ice in the area, they early on had a theory that this was not the cause of the incident, as the road is relatively good. Nor did they think it was a deliberate act.

– And the photo booth seems to be out of action?

– Yes, we notify and follow up with the road traffic centre.

– Did it manage to snap a picture, if high speed was the case?

– I’m no expert on that, but I’d like to think it’s enough to register an image. We’ll see if it helps us in the investigation, he says.

According to witnesses, the car was left a good distance away from the photo booth, on the other side of the road.
