Wuling Formo Max officially launched in Indonesia, Tuesday (17/1/2023). Different from most pickups, this vehicle carries the engine in front, not under the seat. So, what’s the reason?
It is known, Formo Max is a Formo S whose body was ‘decapitated’ and leaving only the head. That is why, the feel of a passenger car still feels strong in this vehicle. One of them is the placement of the machine on the front which makes his face muzzle.
However, that’s not the only reason why Wuling Formo Max uses an engine at the front. According to Product Planning for Wuling Indonesia, Danang Wiratmoko, placing the engine in the front has a number of advantages.
“So, by placing the engine in front and not under the seat, the driver won’t (feel) hot. Apart from that, this is also safer in the event of a collision,” Danang said when met at Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK), North Jakarta.

Wuling Formo Max is indeed unique and different from pickups in general. Apart from using the engine in front, the vehicle is also equipped with fairly sophisticated features. In fact, generally, commercial cars only use technology as it is.
Wuling Formo Max is equipped with disc brakes with ABS and EBD technology, electric power steering, anti-theft alarm, foldable remote key, adjustable seat, automatic power windows, sun visor for the driver, and a modern instrument panel.
Not only that, for the highest variant, the manufacturer also adds other features such as air conditioning or air conditioning, a cellphone charging socket (USB), FM radio and two speakers.

Wuling claims that these features are quite advanced for a pickup. In fact, compared to other models in its class, the Wuling Formo Max is quite up-to-date.
“We want the Wuling pickup to be able to go up in class. So (the use of advanced features) is not only for passenger cars, but also for commercial,” said Danang.
Even though it is equipped with qualified features, the Wuling Formo Max is priced quite affordable, starting from IDR 160 million with status on the road Jakarta.
