– The client does not plead guilty. He has health challenges he struggled with then and still struggles with today, says the man’s defender Mohamed Hamzaoui to VG.
– Does he admit to having done anything at all?

Major memory difficulties
Lawyer Hamzaoui says that the man has not been able to allow himself to be questioned during the time he has been in custody, and has major memory difficulties.
– Does he remember anything at all?
– That is exactly what is a topic here. He has major memory difficulties in addition to many other things, says Hamzaoui.
– Does he relate to what has happened?
– No, he doesn’t.
Since his arrest, the man has been in and out of the psychiatric ward and prison a lot. Now he is in prison. In terms of health, he is still to be assessed as he was at the time of the actions for which he stands accused, according to the lawyer.
– The public prosecutor has issued an indictment and believes he must be punished. Is that correct?
– I don’t think it would be right to sentence him to punishment in this case, says Hamzaoui.
According to Fædrelandsvennen, court-appointed experts have concluded that the man was sane when the murders occurred.
VG has so far not been successful in talking to the state attorney in connection with the indictment.
The case is pre-arranged for 13 March in the Agder District Court. It is set aside for one week.
