The president of the PSD, Marcel Ciolacu, said on Monday that he very much wants Mihai Tudose to enter the government in May when the portfolio of prime minister will be taken over by the social democrats and there will be a rotating government, reports Agerpres.ro.
Asked on Romania TV if Mihai Tudose is coming to the Government, Ciolacu said: “I really want Mihai Tudose to come to the Government. (…) From the discussions with him, he also wants to join the Government. He is an experienced man, he was also Minister of Economy, he was also Prime Minister”.
Ciolacu stated that the protocol of the coalition regarding the ministers who will be changed will be respected at the rotary, if a better formula is not found.
“The protocol will be respected at the rotary, but if we find a better formula within the coalition, we will come up with that formula. If not, the protocol will be followed. (…) You assume both the good and the bad when you signed such a protocol, but I am firmly convinced, our reason as political people who want things to go in the right direction, especially where there are ministers, for example Mr. Boloş at MIPE , from my point of view it is a mistake to change Minister Boloş at this moment. There are five months left until the rotary. We are waiting another three to four months when we will enter into the negotiations, I think very short, to discuss these exchanges of ministries which are, however, in a very limited area. There is a performance at the Ministry of Justice, I got rid of the MCV. There is this country performance”, he mentioned.
